Marine PFT Calculator – User Guide

The Marine PFT Calculator is designed to help candidates, students, and fitness enthusiasts calculate their Physical Fitness Test scores quickly and accurately. It estimates scores based on push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and run times.


Step 1: Enter Your Age

  • Input your current age in years in the “Age” field.
  • Some scoring tables adjust points according to age ranges.

Step 2: Enter Push-ups Count

  • Enter the maximum number of push-ups you can complete in 2 minutes.
  • This helps calculate your push-ups score.
  • Tip: Perform push-ups with proper form to ensure accurate scoring.

Step 3: Enter Sit-ups Count

  • Enter the maximum number of sit-ups you can complete in 2 minutes.
  • Proper form is crucial; your score is based on the number of correct sit-ups.

Step 4: Enter Pull-ups / Pull-downs Count

  • Enter the number of pull-ups or pull-downs completed.
  • Pull-ups usually carry higher weight in scoring compared to push-ups and sit-ups.

Step 5: Enter 3-Mile Run Time

  • Input the time it takes to run 3 miles in minutes.
  • Faster times result in higher scores.
  • Example: 24 for 24 minutes.

Step 6: Calculate Your Score

  1. Click the “Calculate PFT Score” button.
  2. The calculator will display:
    • Total PFT Score – overall score combining all events.
    • Push-ups Score – points earned from push-ups.
    • Sit-ups Score – points earned from sit-ups.
    • Pull-ups Score – points earned from pull-ups.
    • Run Score – points earned based on your 3-mile run time.

The scoring formula is adjustable to match official Marine Corps or Navy PFT tables.


Step 7: Adjust and Recalculate

  • You can modify any input and click calculate again to see updated results.

  • Sit-ups Score = 55
  • Pull-ups Score = 30 (15 × 2)
  • Run Score = 70 (based on formula: 100 – (time-18)*5)

Total PFT Score: 205
